Comments: I came to this site, interested in information on the Golden State Classic. My aunt, her husband, and my grandparents, were killed in a plane crash in 1973. They had an association with the race and was looking to see if there were any photos of the Cinellis or Kelleys.

Comments: Spent many, many Saturday nights at WCR. Not too many kids my age could stay out on a Saturday night until 2AM!! Grew up watching my cousin, Jerry Miller, race for many years. Now, I take my son to Placerville Speedway at least once a year. Wonderful childhood memories!!

Comments: I like all the boys in my neighborhood loved to go out to West Capital on the weekend and have great memories of the old track I met my wife in 81 and when I met her grandfather Jack Gordon at his RV service shop and saw the sprint car sitting in the bay I kinda put 2 and 2 together Girls just didnt tell you that kind of stuff I guess. That their uncle was the late great Jimmy Gordon Thank you for having this site
Comments: I remember going to West Capitol as a kid to see Super Modifieds on Friday and Sprints on Saturday. Trips to West Capitol alway meant a trip to the Yolo Club for some great food after the races. I wonder if that place is still there?
Comments: Growing up in West Sac was just the best of times! My father used to take my brothers and I to Capital Speedway on Saturday nights during the 50's and 60's. Way Cool! Kelly's Drive-In afterward. VC McGowan was a good friend of My Dad's. Great site, great memories!!!...
