WOW!!! Thanks for the memories...I miss the good ole days. Viewing all of the photos was a treat. I am a relative of the Tiner's so viewing the photos with them was great. I remember so many of the names - I wish that they were all still racing. Again, Thanks for the memories.

Boy do I remember those hot summer nights in the 60's. My father would take my brothers and I (Steve & Pat)to Capitol Speedway (Original name)to watch the hardtops. WOW! Wally Baker, Mel Baker, Johnny Brazil, Leroy Van Connett, Gary Patterson, Larry Burton. May your names live forever!

I literally grew up at West Cap Raceway, my uncle (Charlie Whipple) was a track official and would let me ride on the grader, water truck and packer when he prepared the track when I was 6. One of my first dates with my wife of 32 years was there. Soon after my wife and I got together I found out that Buddy Phillips is her uncle, what a small world. Very happy to see the memories of West Capitol Raceway still lingering on...

I grew up in Curtis Park "South Sacramento", & I could hear the cars on race night, all the way from West Sac. I finally got my chance to see racing action in my mid teens, thanks to the Boune' family "mainly Don", who let me help in the pits on the 21 car. I even used to pack the track in my '55 Chevy. The owners of the repair shop I worked at (Bill Castleberry and Rick Dias) also were big into racing at West Capital, and besides having a car of their own, also posted tow trucks at the track every race. man, I miss that action. I was living in West Sac for the last year, and I had to drive by the old place all the time, and it made me sad to just see trailers sitting on, what was one of the fastest tracks in the country. I'm just glad that there are a lot of people who "refuse" to forget.

I spent a lot of great sat. nights at West Capital Raceway! I`ve seen races all over the country, some have come close, but none have bettered the weekly wars at West Cap.
